ROSE-DELIMA LAFRENIERE (née JOLICOEUR) With great sadness we announce the passing of Rose, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the age of 93, at Pine Falls Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her children Léon, Andre (Janice), Gilles (Joanne), Paul (Gloria) and Cecile; her grandchildren Chantelle (Josh), Jason (Shari), Nicole, Tyler (Aimee), Selena (Adam), Mathieu (Stephanie), Merisa (Kyle); and her great-grandchildren Ashton, Hayley, Cooper, Sadie, Avery, Tanner, Liam, Emilie, Henry, James and Oliver. Rose was predeceased by her husband Alain, daughter-in-law Gloria, son-in-law Bernie, her mother Rose-Délima and father Eugène, as well as her mother-in-law Imelda and father-in-law Philippe. Rose was born in Rosewood, MB and grew up on the family farms. She married Alain in St. Anne, MB in 1951. That same year, Rose and Alain moved to Powerview, MB and spent the next 45 years together building a beautiful family. Rose was an avid gardener and took pride in her flowers. She loved to sew, embroider and play card games and cribbage. Rose was very crafty and could make anything. She loved to cook and enjoyed canning her garden produce into her 90s. Rose loved to spend time at the cottage at Ironwood Point and enjoyed her time travelling across Canada with Alain and Leon. Rose played a big role in the community. She was a member of the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary. Rose was also a member of the local Cemetery Committee, and the Hospital Auxiliary in Pine Falls. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Pine Falls Hospital for their exceptional care. We would also like to thank Dr. Ota and Bella Malo for ensuring Mom's comfort. A special thank you to Auntie Aline, Therese and Yvette for visiting Mom every week and lifting her spirits, and granddaughter Selena for always making sure Grandma got what she wanted from the kitchen. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church in Powerview. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's memory to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to a charity of your choice.
