Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEINAR UNVALD EINARSON November 5, 1927 October 24, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our Father, Afi and Langafi, Einar Unvald Einarson at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Left to cherish his memory are his children Raideen Parada, Kelvin (Kelly), Ronald (Heather), Lyle and Janice (Kent) Zagowzewski as well as 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Gudrun (Gertie) and daughter Cheryl Garraway. Einar also leaves behind his sisters Gudrun Jonasson, Gudny Palson, Steinunn Gafferay, Thorunn Einarson, Sylvia (Jim) Maloney, Alda (Petur) Gudmundsson, brothers Freeman (Eileen), Bjarni (Beverly), brother-in-law Lawrence Einarson, sisters-in-law Inga Solmundson, Kathy Einarson and Ollie Einarson. Einar, son of Gunnar and Malfridur Einarson, was born and raised in the Geysir district near Arborg, MB. He married Gertie in 1953 and they settled in Hnausa, MB where they worked hard raising kids and cattle. In addition to farming Einar also owned and operated Hnausa Transfer for thirty years. He had many great memories of his years trucking livestock and spoke often of the valued relationships he had with his customers. Dad treasured his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He liked nothing better than to have them running around, helping him on the farm or teaching them how to drive a tractor. Dad was well known for having a sweet tooth. Coffee time was not complete without having some sort of dainty to go with his coffee. Curling and snowmobiling were also two of his favorite past times. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Mary Thorarinson Estates in Arborg and the Arborg Personnel Care Home for the exceptional care they provided him in his later years. A memorial service will be held at the Riverton Community Hall on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made in his memory to the Hnausa Cemetery, Box 716, Riverton , MB R0C 2R0 or a charity of your choice. I was one of those kids that has fond memories of the time I spent on Uncle Einar's farm. Sitting on his knee and steering the tractor was pretty exciting when you were a kid growing up in Winnipeg. I also remember the many times of getting up with him and Kelvin in what felt like the middle of the night to pick-up the pigs or cattle with Hnausa Transfer. The long day always turned into a fun experience, and I think back on how tolerant Uncle Einar was with the use of cattle prods in the cab of the truck. Thanks for the great memories...
