RUTH COOK (FARDOE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth Cook on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Ray, her daughter Rita Nault, and nine siblings, and is survived by her brother, Roy (Betty). She will be sadly missed by her seven children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her favourite hobbies were going to Polo Park with her special niece Evie, doing word searches and Jumbles and walks to McDonald's with Dad. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember her fondly for her supply of Hawkins Cheezies and cookie tins full of cookies. Mum loved to play the piano and could pick up any tune by ear. She enjoyed her phone calls from brother Roy and her niece Janet. Ruth was born in 1926 and grew up on the family dairy farm in Rosser, Manitoba. This is where she learned her love of music and developed her strong work ethic. She enjoyed going to the dances at Patterson's Barn with her brothers and sisters. This is where she met the love of her life Ray. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage and raised their family in the house in Brooklands. Special thanks to her niece Evie for her special companionship and many trips to Polo Park. Many thanks to the staff on the fifth floor, Unit 3 and 2 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Private family funeral to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Ruth was always friendly and a happy person. I remember her and Ray dutifully tending the graves of her parents and my mother-in-law, Marguerite Hindmarch, for many years. I know her family will miss her. Sincere condolences, Elaine Hindmarch - Posted by: Elaine Hindmarch (My late husband, Allen, was her nephew) on: Oct 31, 2017
