Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENEE JOSEPHINE RICHARD (nee LEPODER) It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Renée on October 28, 2017. At the age of 86, she succumbed to failing health as a result of a fall a month prior. Left to lovingly remember Renée are her daughter Judy (Glen), her niece Shirley, nephew Norman, great-nephew and niece Adam and Alicia, as well as many of her dear, close friends. Renée was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Celine, husband Michael, and brother Raymond. Renée was born in Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB on October 13, 1931 where she grew up on the family farm. She met the love of her life Michael at an Assembly and in 1956 they were married in Brandon, MB. They moved to Salmon Arm, BC where Michael continued his job at the saw mill. Two years later they moved back to Treherne, MB in order to take care of her aging parents. In 1971 they relocated to Rathwell where they opened and operated a small service station. Renée became a "jack-of-all-trades" performing oil changes, etc. right up until she sold their business after her dear husband passed away in 1990. Renee was renowned for her extraordinarily loving, warm hospitality and kindness which she extended to everyone she met including those who fell on hard times. She also became primary care giver to those who were closest to her including her aging friends and relatives throughout the years. Her door was always open to happily share her wonderful baking and cooking - it was said that she never met a stranger. She was also a talented seamstress and gardener who loved her cats. In addition to her warm personality she had a very strong willpower and an unwavering faith which enabled her to endure serious health issues as well as other adversities that came her way. Renée was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1945. Her primary focus in life was sharing the good news about Jehovah's Kingdom, and the Bible's promise of eternal life on a paradise earth. She took comfort in God's promise of an earthly resurrection and shared this hope with everyone she could right up until her passing (2 Peter 3:13, Acts 24:15). From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank all the staff at the Southeast Personal Care Home for the loving care and attention they showered Renée with since her arrival in 2011. In particular, we are especially grateful to Rita Jamieson, and nurse Diane for their loving support. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall Centre of Jehovah's Witnesses, 227 Lakewood Blvd., on Saturday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m., Brian Charette officiating.
