Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET MARY MAES September 12, 1926 - November 1, 2017 Margaret passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Poseidon Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Gabe and son James. Margaret will be missed by her children and spouses - Robert (Chloe), Marjorie (Wayne), Donald (Sheryn), David (Wendy), Kenneth (Marianne) and daughter-in-law Leanne. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Overwater and Irene Overwater; brother Gerry Van Wynesberghe (Lorraine) and nieces and nephews. Margaret grew up on a dairy farm in Tuxedo. She married Dad in 1947 and they moved to the farm in Fort Whyte. There they farmed and raised their family. In 1992 Mom left the farm and moved to a condo in Fort Garry. Mom liked to knit and she knitted many sweaters for her children, grandchildren and others. Mom and Dad were both members of the Belgium Club. Service will be Thursday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg. The family would like to thank everyone at the Poseidon Care Centre for the excellent care and compassion given to Margaret for the past three years. Dear Grandma, We will miss your laugh, your love, your pinches, your pokes, and the way you shake your finger when we are being trouble makers just like you - we learned from the best! We will miss your chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, cinnamon buns, honey loaf and all the other baking you did for us. We will miss your knitted sweaters, mittens, slippers and hats. But most of all we will miss you. Your legacy of kindness and love of family will live on in each of us. Love you Gram!
