PEARL IRENE DE'ATHE On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, our dear mother, grandmother, friend left us to be with the Lord. She will be much missed. She was predeceased by her husband Bryden; daughter-in-law Claire; her parents, Wilmont and Eva-Mae Goudy, and siblings Grace, Margaret, and Donald. She leaves to mourn, her children, Douglas and Beverley (Leigh) and grandchildren, Sharon (Lavern), Signe (Chris), Samuel, Jillian (Sel) and Jayne (Jeremy), along with great-grandchildren Bryden, Brooke, Marie, Winona, Matthew, Summer, MacKenzie, Kayden, Katrina, Reagan, and Pearl's brother Calvin (Mary) along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Pearl was born in Prince George, BC on September 2, 1921. Over the years, she and her family moved first to Saskatchewan and then to Manitoba. She met her husband, Bryden De'Athe in Sidney, MB and they married on November 11, 1940. Together, she and Bryden built up a successful farming operation near Carberry, MB, which their son Douglas now continues. Pearl was an invaluable partner in the farming operation, a great cook, an avid gardener, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great sense of humour and a strong commitment to her family. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Bryden passed away in April, 2007. Shortly after, Pearl moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her daughter. She lived in her own home in Winnipeg for five years, and then in 2012, moved to Misericordia Place Personal Care Home. A special thanks to the staff at Misericordia for their great care, and to five very special ladies who were caring companions for several years: Linda, Jeannette, Becky, Fran, and Malou. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, on the corner of Donald and Graham in Winnipeg. As well, there will be a Memorial Service held at the Evangelical Free Church, 409 Toronto Street in Carberry, MB on Thursday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Holy Trinity Mission Ministry. Pearl was a volunteer with Holy Trinity's Mission Ministry for several years. Donations can be sent to the Holy Trinity Mission Ministry at 256 Smith St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1K1 NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • I am extremely sorry for your loss. I will miss Pearl’s bright blue eyes and everything about her. The unit will definitely not be the same. I may not be able to attend the service (childcare) but I am thinking and praying for you all. Rest in paradise dear Pearl. - Posted by: Tara Soares (Health care aide at Misericordia ) on: Nov 05, 2017
