VERNA RUTH ARNOLD Verna Ruth Arnold passed peacefully at the age of 86, on November 3, 2017. Verna grew up in Birds Hill and moved to OakBank shortly after marrying Gerald Arnold in 1952 (65 years). She will be missed by her loving family including husband Gerald (Jerry); sons, Ross (Susan) and Gerald (Karen), daughter Sandra Tucker (Pat); grandchildren, Ginger (Mike), Travis (Liana), Alyssa, Steven, Dylan, Mindy, Kaela (Matt) and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Lily and Tony. She will also be dearly missed by her twin sister Lois Swistun, along with numerous family and friends. Mom was an active member in the OakBank community. She was involved in many groups throughout her life including OakBank United Church, Girl Guides, and Silver Threads. Verna valued her friendships through the Flying Farmers community, golf and many travels. The family would like to acknowledge the compassion and care shown to Mom by Springfield Home Care and the Palliative Care unit at Selkirk General Hospital. A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. at OakBank United Church, 582 Balsam Cres., OakBank, MB. Verna is survived by her beloved husband Gerald (Jerry); sons, Ross and Gerald and daughter Sandra Tucker and their families.
