ANNA MARIE RITA PELLERIN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Marie Rita Pellerin on November 4, 2017 in the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89 years. Anna was predeceased by her husband Andre in 1988, her parents and her brother Lawrence. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Suzanne and Claudette (Wil), her grandchildren Geoffrey, Paul-Andre, and Kristine, and great-grandson Jared; her sisters Lillian (Gil) and Annette, her brothers Patrick and Raynold; and many other relatives and friends. From birth until her death Anna nourished the people around her. Her humble generous spirit influenced her whole life. Anna was both elegant and disciplined in every aspect of her life. She taught us the importance of joy in a life well lived. One of her favorite sayings was "you can never go wrong by doing the right thing". She made deep and enduring friendships. She was fortunate to have some friends who shared her longevity and remained friends with her from early childhood to her final days. Anna grew up in Dunrea, Manitoba. She left for the big city at the tender age of 16 and started work at the St. Boniface Hospital, staying in the residence provided by the hospital for young girls, new to the city. There she met a handsome young man working as a Power Engineer at the hospital. They married on June 21, 1947. In 1949 Anna and Andre moved to St. Paul, Alberta, where Andre worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital for nine years. While in St. Paul they were blessed with their two daughters, Suzanne and Claudette. During their stay in St. Paul Anna made many lifelong friends. They returned to Winnipeg in 1959 where she lived for the remainder of her life. Her zest for life was clear to all who knew her. She loved to travel and was fortunate to be able to do so, travelling to many destinations in Europe, Asia and North America. The scenery she experienced during her travels inspired many of her paintings. In addition to painting she loved to quilt and knit, while listening to her music. You could always tell when Anna was home by the sound of joyful music wafting through her apartment door. She enjoyed keeping current on events happening around the world and was always ready to discuss the politics of the day with whoever dared to ask. The family would like to thank the staff on 4B, Family Medicine, at the St. Boniface Hospital for the care they provided her while in the hospital. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory. Service details are pending. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Hi Suzanne Just found out from mom of your mother's passing. I knew she had heart problems but her passing is still a surprise. I will miss her little email messages. It was nice when mom and I visited for beer and pizza when I was in Winnipeg or when she would visit mom at the resisdence. Of course mom was more mobile at that time. I will certainly remember her for a good humour and sweet disposition. All my sympathy Suzanne. My thoughts go with you during this time. Your mom is surely resting in peace and love. Will think of her in my prayers. All the best for you and your family. - Posted by: Yvette Dupuis (cousin) on: Dec 09, 2017
