ELSA ELFRIEDE KAEHLER (nee HATTENHAUER) 1924 - 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsa Elfriede Kaehler in Winnipeg. Elsa was 93 years old and will be lovingly remembered by her four children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Erwin in 1989. They had met in Germany, married during the war, and had two children, Barbara and Linda, before immigrating to Canada after the close of the war. Two more children, Norbert and Joyce, were added in the new country they made home. Elsa, besides looking after the needs of the family, worked as a seamstress for a Winnipeg clothing company. She was a dedicated church member and loved to sing in the choir. A funeral service to celebrate Elsa's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, with a reception following the service. The family expresses our thanks to East Park Lodge for many years of Elsa's happy living, and especially to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre who provided excellent care and comfort during these last few difficult months.
