Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM PATRICK BARRY CASEY 1933 - 2017 Peacefully and quietly Barry passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Ivy and Terence Casey, his son, David Wayne Casey, and his mother and father-in-law, Edith and Ted Kettle of Richmond, England. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Angela, son Graham (Tracy) and granddaughter Laura, daughter Natasha of Vancouver, and his brother Allan of Melbourne, Australia. Barry was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Lord Roberts School and Kelvin High School. His first job was as a paper carrier for the Winnipeg Free Press. In 1949 he went to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway and spent 11 years there. It was in 1950, the year of the great flood, that Barry went to England to visit relatives. It was there that Barry met his beautiful wife Angela. They wrote for four years and then Angela took a trip to Winnipeg. They became engaged in 1954 and they married in 1955. They spent 62 years together. Barry moved to Air Canada in 1960 and remained there for just under 30 years. He retired as Payroll Systems Support Manager. Following retirement, Angela and Barry made a number of trips to British Columbia to share holidays with their daughter Natasha. They also made one last trip to London, England to visit Angela's family. Special mention should be made of the lifelong friendship between Barry and the late John and Joan Harris. They epitomized the meaning of friends and they were always there when needed. We thank God for blessing us with such friends. We would like to thank Dr. Paul Lu for his constant care and attention to Barry. The family is very grateful to all the staff at Poseidon Personal Care Centre. Barry was cared for lovingly with respect and dignity. Special thanks to all the 5th floor staff. In accordance with Barry's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or Poseidon Personal Care Centre, 70 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, MB R3M 3E5. Barry was my first supervisor at Air Canada. He was a firm but fair boss and always demanded perfection from his staff. He was one of the smartest ever to walk the halls of payroll department and his knowledge was well respected. I had the utmost respect for him and his work ethic. - Posted by: Jan Charison (co-worker at Air Canada) on: Nov 20, 2017

Barry was a long-time and treasured friend of our mom and dad. Over the years, they had many lively visits, full of laughter, good food, and singalongs, with him and Angela, and we have known him almost from birth. We will remember Barry for his bright mind, his breathtaking knowledge of world affairs, his hearty laugh, and for his willingness to help people in need. We are very sad to lose him and extend our condolences to his family. We are thinking of you at this sad time and send you all hugs. - Posted by: Linda and Annette Smith (Friends) on: Nov 15, 2017
