EDWARD LOCHT
Born: Dec 25, 1921
Date of Passing: Nov 13, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD LOCHT December 25, 1921 - November 13, 2017 Our beloved Ed peacefully went to be with his Lord at the age of 95. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorna; daughters, Karen Toews (Randy), Nonie Giesbrecht (Gerry); grandchildren, Kristen (Brendan), Andrew, Nathan (Nadine), Maegan (Nathan); four great-grandchildren and his sister Dorothy Thompson. He was born in Morris and as a teenager moved with his family to Winnipeg. At the age of 20 he purchased a farm in the Rosser area. Being very resourceful and independent, he worked hard to be a successful farmer. During retirement he and Mom enjoyed many years of travelling and especially their winters in Florida where they made many lifelong good friends. Throughout his life he served in various capacities at Bethel Baptist Church, on the Board of Providence University College and as a member of the Gideons. Dad loved the Lord which was demonstrated through his giving and caring heart. He will be greatly missed but we rejoice in knowing that we will be with him again in heaven. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Mark, Chris, Daniel and the team at Grace Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion during Dad's brief stay. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" Psalm 23:6 Funeral service will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. I have many wonderful memories of time spent at Ed and Lorna's house in St James as well as many hay rides at the farm With Bethel young peoples group. I am sure there are many others with the same thoughts. We were always welcome in their home either as a group or as individuals. Lorna, Karen and Noni, my thoughts are with you.
