Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I have fond memories of Bill from 1977 when he and Mavis took a group of 9 young female canoeists off the Saskatchewan River and into their homes. Bill was so generous in spirit and so incredibly personable (as is Mavis) on both counts. He left an indelible mark on my life as a result. I am forever grateful for he and Mavis’ generosity that day and will never forget the kindest man who went out of his way to help some wayward travelers. I have thought of you so many times throughout my life. Rest In Peace Bill. Wish I would have made it up again to see you both. - Posted by: Lauri Jorgenson (Friend) on: Nov 09, 2020

  • 1 year has passed, yet it still feels like yesterday. Not a day goes by without thoughts of the best Dad ever. Missed by all who loved you. - Posted by: WJ Harper Jr (Son) on: Nov 11, 2018

  • So sorry to learn of Bill's passing. He was a great friend to my Father, Herb. Even though Bill wasn't in the best of health himself, he somehow found the time and energy to make the drive from Oakbank to Winnipeg, two to three times a week, to spend time with Herb who was in failing health, often with fresh baked cookies from Mavis. Herb always looked forward to Bill's visits. Bill Harper was a true Gentleman with a heart of gold. We hope they both somehow manage to reconnect again on the Other Side. - Posted by: Bill Sparrow (friend) on: Nov 28, 2017
