Doris was born on February 25, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up in Charleswood graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Following graduation, Doris went to work for the Great West Life Assurance Co., and in 1956 married Walter Brennan of Winnipeg. Shortly thereafter, Doris began her true life's work and passion raising her three sons. During her lifetime, Doris enjoyed frequent travels abroad with family and friends. She also enjoyed many summers at the family cottage on Lee River, particularly after the arrival of her four grandchildren. Doris was a member of the Rossmere Golf and Country Club for more than 40 years. She was an avid golfer and curler, and served on the Executive of the East Kildonan Ladies Curling Club for many years. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My mother would like to send her belated condolenses to the family of Doris. She has been residing in a personal care home with her husband Gordon since late 2017 and only became aware of Doris's passing today. She has so many great memories of Doris at Rossmere golfing and curling. She was a dear friend. God Bless from Virginia's son, Jeff Davis - Posted by: Virginia Davis (Friend) on: Jun 23, 2018

  • My dear friend Doris, I am missing you now and will forever. Condolences to all her family, I know she loved you all to bits and so looked forward to all the grandchildren's Hockey, Football games, etc. She was a big part of my curling years at Rossmere. - Posted by: Elsie Thrumble (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2017

  • My condolences to all of Doris's family. I share in your sadness as you grieve the loss of your mother and grandmother. I have so many fond memories of your family through all the "growing up" years in North Kildonan....Springfield Heights Elementary School , North Kildonan Community Club, and all the hockey years. We shared a common bond raising a family and supporting all the sport endeavors. Those were fun years. It was always a pleasure in later years when we would chance to meet and greet to catch up on the latest family news and remember the "old times." May all of your happy memories bring you comfort in the days and years ahead. Doris will be missed and remembered. In sympathy for your loss, Shirley Augustine. - Posted by: Shirley Augustine (one of the hockey mother friends) on: Nov 18, 2017
