A Gentle Man, I always wondered who it was who owned the sheep farm on Cockrane Rd until his daughter, Marianne, joined the Manitoba Breeding Bird Atlas - a 5 year program that I was involved in. Through that, I met Robert. I found him to be a very gentle man, very kind and very smart and very given to talking about just about everything. We had some great conversations. And over the years we traded a few things. He loaded me up with sheep manure for my garden and I'd drive my tractor over and cultivate his. I was very sad to hear of his passing.
