Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCOLLEEN SINCLAIR It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear Colleen on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 while on business in Brandon, Manitoba. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved mother Marguerite; her loving partner Kirk Haugen; his daughter Kirstyn; grand-daughters Annika and Jillian and his son Kohl. Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her brother Greg (Elaine), Perry; sisters Cynthia, Kristy; Wendy (Nelson), Warren (Kayla) and Alexandra; brothers David, Danielle and Ryan (their mother Sandy); Michael (Evelyn), Jacinda and Andrew (Stephanie). Also remembering Colleen are many family members and countless friends. She was predeceased by her father Andrew Lloyd when she was 14 years old. Colleen was the youngest of the family and was born in Winnipeg. She grew up in St. James and graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate where she was a member of the school band and a talented musician, playing the flute and oboe. One of the highlights of her senior year was when the band travelled to Vienna to perform in concerts and participated in a music competition. Colleen was well suited for her chosen career in Information Technology and was employed by BDO Canada for 23 years. When she started with the company it meant moving to Kenora. With her positive outlook and easygoing nature she made friends wherever she went, many whom she remained close with throughout her life. For many years while living in Kenora she volunteered and was a committee member for Kenora's annual Harbour Fest. Colleen was also a great humanitarian. She donated to numerous worthy causes and charities. Through Foster Parent Plan she was supporting a boy who lives in Kenya. From a young age she nurtured her love for animals, especially cats. She gladly gave of her time to volunteer at The Cat Shelter in Kenora. Colleen was a modest person with an unlimited capacity for compassion and caring, one who would willingly go out of her way to help those in need, people and animals alike. After living in Kenora for many years she recently moved to Lac du Bonnet to be with the love of her life Kirk and his family, whom she also dearly loved. Colleen's love of nature was most evident with her garden, her pride and joy. She had various interests including crafting, baking and travel. The family always looked forward to Christmas and Colleen's gifts of homemade nuts and bolts and chocolate truffles. Colleen will be deeply missed and always remembered. Donations in Colleen's name may be made to The Cat Shelter, kenoracatshelter.com or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Colleen was a goddess and a friend throughout her years in Kenora. We did many things together including a belly dancing class. Colleen was a wonderful organizer and could take a dream or vision and make it come to fruition. I think of the Community Peace Project and the creation of a meditation CD that she spearheaded. We gave them out freely one Saturday in the mall - to anyone who wanted one - accompanied with cookies in the hope that peace would prevail. One summer day we had a beautiful water blessing ceremony at Rabbit Lake in Kenora. Colleen used my clowning antics on several occasions. She often told people I left the courthouse to become a clown. I told them I received my training there. We didn't see each other in the last two or three years as we travelled along seperate paths but she will always live in memory and close at heart. Rest in peace my friend. - Angela - Posted by: Angela Treadway (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2017
