MARTINA SMILLIE March 4, 1927 November 20, 2017 Peacefully, at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Martina passed away on November 20, 2017. Left to mourn her are her two daughters, Alexandra and Tina (Ron); grandchildren, Brenna (Raymond), Cailia (Brendon), Kieara, Karli and Maria; her great-grandchildren, Ariyana and Raiyalyse and her canine companion Skipper. Martina was predeceased by her husband Robert; brother Victor and parents, Catarina and Lambert Souljè. Martina was born and raised in Rotterdam, Holland. She met her husband Robert when he was stationed in Rotterdam during the Second World War. They married in 1952 and thereafter, immigrated to Canada. They moved to St. Andrew's in 1971. They loved their home and stayed there for as long as possible. A special thank you to the kind and compassionate nursing staff at the Teulon Hospital. Martina was well taken care of and treated with dignity. The family is extremely grateful for their kindness and care. Also, a special thank you to Wayne Bodie for his generosity and friendship. A celebration of Martina's life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Rm ON1160, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
