Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNES (JOHN) PETRUS KAPTEIN Peacefully with his family by his side, John passed away on November 19, at the age of 71, due his battle with Parkinson's Disease. John was born in Alkmaar, Netherlands to his parents, Theodore and Gertude Kaptein. John and his family then immigrated to Canada in August 1949 and settled in Ile des Chenes, Manitoba where he grew up. In 1967, he entered the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, while working in the Airforce until 1979. He spent time overseas for many years, where he worked and travelled. He continued his career as an Aircraft Mechanic at Air Canada, Calm Air and Standard Areo. He leaves behind his loving daughter Joanna (Steven) and two beautiful grandsons, Bryson and Mason, who he always treasured and enjoyed their visits and their smiles. His brothers and sisters, Nick, Liz, Joseph (Margueritte), Irma, Ted, Rene (June), Martin (Cheryl) and Nellie (Al), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Gertrude Kaptein. John enjoyed going for coffee with friends, visiting his brothers and sisters, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and biking at the Forks. He loved his cars and countless shopping excursions with his daughter. He may have left this world, but he will live on forever in our hearts. We would like to thank the staff at HSC MICU, D4 Units for their compassion, patience and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada. A private family service will be held at a later date, in respect to John. Desjardins 204-233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca
