GAYLE MARIE TIMLICK With great sadness the family of Gayle Marie Timlick announce her passing at the age of 71 years. Left to survive Gayle are her daughter Candice; her two granddaughters, Brittany (Terrik Bannerman) Bryson, Alexis Wright, great-grandson Shane Bannerman, and newest great-grandchild due in the spring. She also leaves behind her brothers and sister, Bob (Marion) Timlick, Ron Timlick, Brian (Brenda) Timlick, Linda (Dave) Gallant, and Bernie Timlick. Nephews and nieces Dave (Shannon) Timlick, Doug (Raeleen) Timlick, Shelley (Chris Kacsmar) Timlick, Raimey Gallant, Jill (Frank) Zappia, Christine (Carl Desender) Gallant, Carly Gallant, Ian Steves, Andrew (Paola) Timlick, and many great nieces and nephews. Gayle was born in Winnipeg on May 7, 1946 to George and Helen Timlick, the third oldest of six. Throughout her life she formed many long term friendships that lasted till her passing. She became a teacher with her first teaching job at Immaculate Heart of Mary where she used to say she was often confused with being a student, she was so young looking. Her next teaching adventure was at General Wolfe where she enjoyed introducing the students there to new adventures outside the classroom like cross country skiing and skating. After the birth of her daughter Candice, Gayle spent the remaining years of her 32 year teaching career at Villa Rosa. She enjoyed the interaction with the students there, encouraging them to study hard, be independent and prepare for their futures. She was a very confident teacher and encouraged her students to be confident in their own abilities, with many of them thriving on that encouragement. She was a very independent person who decided in her thirties to have a new adventure for herself and Candice. She purchased a cottage lot and built a cottage. She always managed to convince her family and friends to come out, enjoy the cottage life, and help her work on the many projects she had on the go. After her retirement she even lived out there for several years before returning to live in Winnipeg to be closer to her granddaughters, Brittany and Alexis. They were always very special to her, and she loved them very much. She was a funny generous person, supporting many charities, and doing income tax for some of her "clients" as she fondly called them. An avid reader, her Winnipeg Free Press was always at hand. Thank you to her friends who supported her over the years. Your friendship was very important to her. At her request, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will take place. Family and friends will gather at a private gathering at a later date to share positive memories of Gayle and her life. Donations in Gayle's memory may be made to her favorite charity, Villa Rosa Inc., 784 Wolseley Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1C6.
