MARGUERITE BERUBE (nee BLAIS) August 8, 1921 - November 20, 2017 Peacefully at Foyer Valade, our beloved mother and Memère passed away, surrounded by her family. She is now joined in heaven by the love of her life of 61 years, René, predeceased on October 12, 2009 and her great-great-granddaughter, Zoey. Marguerite was a very caring and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who devoted her life to her husband and her four boys. She leaves to mourn her sons, Raymond (Debbie), Paul (Lorraine), Denis (Monique), Maurice (Pat). She also leaves her cherished 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was a woman of very strong faith and lived her life accordingly. Mom's full-time job was taking care of her four active boys. Being a tomboy herself, she loved to rough-house with them. She loved to tease or playfully "taper les fesses". As her boys grew up and married, family get-togethers were one of her many great joys, sharing stories and laughs over a great meal and glass or two of Drambuie. She left her mark on everyone she met. You couldn't help but love her instantly. Her memory faded over the past several years, however, her spark and her "joie de vive" never did. Although she is no longer with us, memories and good times will always be in our hearts. "I see a smile upon her face as Mom moves on to another place, and sees Pap standing there, as heaven's wind blows through his hair, now two young souls walk hand in hand, in a place where there's no mortal man, where spirits know no sorrow, no pain, and where our mom knows Pap again." We will miss you Memère. "Toodle loo"! Special thanks to the staff at Résidence Despins and Foyer Valade 2nd floor, who took exceptional care of Mom during her stays. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Our sinceres condolences to Raymond, Paul, Denis, Maurice and their families. Mme Berube was a great part of my amazing Bertrand St childhood. She spent her last year just down the hall from my mom at Foyer Valade. Amazing how the circle of life goes. I am sure there is a party going on in heaven with the old neighbourhood parents! May the peace of God be with you all. Sorry I was not able to attend her funeral as we are out of the country. - Posted by: Janet (Brisson) Cretain (friend of the family) on: Nov 28, 2017

  • I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. My condolences. I remember your mom as full of life, so fun to be around even as a little girl when I would accompany my Mom for coffee at "Mme Bérubé's". Your mom had an infectious laugh and her twinkling blue eyes made me think of the female version of Père Noël! Even as I grew to adulthood, she was special to me. May she rest in peace now. Merci Mme Bérubé pour avoir été une bonne amie à ma mère. Vous pouvez maintenant avoir un bon café ensemble et rire comme des bonnes! - Posted by: Paulette (Normandeau) Vandale (friend) on: Nov 26, 2017
