She was preceded in death by her brothers Louis-Paul, Marius, Etienne and Joseph, her sisters Mariette, Jeannine and Rachel, her sisters-in-law Lucille and Angéline, and her brother-in-law Albert Brisson. Marguerite was born in St. Agathe, Manitoba on October 15, 1921. She was the second child in a family of eight of Adolphe Lemoine and Ida Dorge. She attended school in St. Agathe and St. Pierre-Jolys. Later on, she pursued her studies and obtained a teaching certificate, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba. Her teaching experience was varied in teaching levels and locations: St. Pierre-Jolys, St. Joseph's Academy, Kenora, St. Jean-Baptiste, Marion School, Louis Riel School, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, and St. Anne.
