Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA JUNGHANS "In loving memory of a wonderful Mother and Grandmother" On Friday, November 24, 2017, at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Erna Junghans passed away at the age of 93 years. Erna was born in Soucht, France on December 1, 1923, daughter of Marie and Jacques Heim. In 1949 she married Werner (Bill) Junghans in France, and immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Winnipeg. Erna was predeceased by her husband, of 67 years, in 2016. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Marc (Robyn) of Calgary, Alberta and Raymond of Guelph, Ontario. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Alysa, Kathleen, Thomas, Alexandra, Monique, Rachelle, Ryan, Kyle, Shanyn and Taylar. "Grandma" always gave time to her grandchildren. She was a tough spirit with a kind heart who enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, and teaching, especially with the grandkids. Prior to his passing, she and Bill were inseparable, and now are together again. As Erna requested, a private family memorial service and interment was held November 28, 2017 at Brookside Cemetery. Many times Ray would tell us about his parents and how they were doing. Ray told stories about his growing up in Winnipeg, and about his mother and father. We always wanted to meet with his parents, to see the people that helped shape this man that we consider a very good friend. Ray always spoke so highly of his mother Erna, and told us what a strong, proud, and loving mother and grandmother she was.
