WINNIE DUKE (nee OLECKA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Nanny, and friend on November 28, 2017. After a long battle with Scleroderma, Winnie Duke, born June 5, 1929 in Molson, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family, at Calvary Place. Winnie was the proud mother of eight children and Sam her beloved dog: Doris Gay and John Harding and family; Karolyn and Ken and family; Humphrey; Jodie and family; Jazmyn (in Heaven) and Jordyn; John and Amy and family; Marina and Darian. Robert Duke and family; Robbie, Gary, and Reena. Lance and Mona Duke and family; Candice and Kenny. Daryle and Lori Duke and family; Rachel and Leah. Jeffrey Duke and family; Alyssa. Evelyn and Mike Theroux and family; Wesley and Cory. Kelly Duke and family; Breanne and Garrett and Brenden. Myra Duke and Peter. Nanny had a way of making everyone feel valued and special. She enjoyed volunteering for school and community events and was awarded the Order of Serving Sister with St. John Ambulance. Nanny was passionate about garage sales and always treasured her finds and carefully stored them "to the right of the dryer!" This amazing lady was completely dedicated to loving her children, caring for sick kids, helping stray animals, and having a cup of tea with anyone. Mom proudly raised her family on porridge not privilege. A special thank you to Jodie for her respectful, compassionate, palliative care. In lieu of flowers, as per Mom's wishes, donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation at 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. Rest in peace with a cup of tea Nan. You are Forever our Special Angel. Please join us for Tea with Nan as we celebrate her life at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit www.chapellawn.ca Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 204-885-9715
