MARJORIE (MARGE) ELLEN SCHICK With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and aunt, Marge Schick, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the Tudor House Personal Care Home, Selkirk. Aunt Marge, as she was known by all that knew her, is survived by her daughter, Donna; sisters, Ethel and Edith; brother, Danny; grandchildren, Debbie, Kim and Glen; great-granddaughters, Nicole and Paige; and also Doug and Connie Rapko, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marge was born January 17, 1912 and raised in the Lockport area. She moved to Winnipeg to work as a young woman where she met the love of her life, Bill Schick. They soon married and resided in Winnipeg where Donna was born. Later, they moved back to Marge's birthplace, which they purchased from her parents after they retired. They spent many years cattle-farming and grooming their award winning gardens. When the work got too much for them, they retired in Winnipeg. After Bill's passing, she made Selkirk her home and lived with Doug and Connie. She enjoyed her new deck where she could sit in the sun and visit with her many new friends and family. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marge's name can be made to the Building Fund of Selkirk Community Church, 6569 Hwy. 9, St. Andrews, MB R1A 4E6. Condolences may be left at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Aunt Marge will be dearly missed. I have wonderful memories of spending time at their home in Lockport. I always loved going around her beautiful yard and admiring all her work! I remember always having fun when my parents, Jim and Trudy brought us girls there to visit. I remember her dog, Penny and playing with her. She had a wonderful home and I have so many good memories of her and my time there. She was a wonderful person! Rest in peace Aunt Marge. love Gina Fedyck - Posted by: Gina Fedyck (Aunt) on: Jan 26, 2018

  • The most memorable memory for us was spending all the holidays at aunt Marge and uncle Bill's house . With aunt Marges sumptuous cooking and uncle Bill's playing jokes on us. A good time was had by all. Their generous hospitality was next to none. Personally for me: my cousin Ray Olekson and I spent many weekends at the ranch with them. Uncle Bill let us learn to drive on his brand new baby blue 1960 Lincoln. What a great aunt and uncle they were. They treated our girls like princesses. We all are very grateful for them. Love you.
