Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO ALBERT ROY 11 septembre, 1941 - 11 décembre, 2017 C'est avec tristesse que nous annonçons la mort de Léo Roy, décédé paisiblement à la maison entouré des siens. Il laisse derrière lui son épouse depuis 54 ans, Rachel (Gosselin); son fils Michel, sa belle-fille Michelle Bacon, et ses petits-enfants Solange et Simon; sa fille Josée, son genre Tim Griffin, et ses petits-enfants Sébastien et Geneviève. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère Robert (Marie), ses soeurs Yvonne Roy et Albertine Moran (Roger), sa belle-famille Gosselin (trop nombreux pour énumérer), plusieurs neveux et nièces, et finalement, les voisins et les boys du 400. Léo était un homme avec un grand coeur et toujours prêt à rendre service. Il avait un unique sens d'humour et aimait taquiner, enfants comme adultes. Léo spent the better part of his career in the airline business as a service agent. His friendly manner and love of helping people was infectious and respected by all those who worked with him. May God bless all the many doctors, nurses, and homecare workers who cared for Léo, and the palliative staff who helped us care for him at home. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 15 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. at Saint-Martyrs-Canadiens Church, 289 Dussault Avenue in Winnipeg. Mes sincères sympathies Rachel et famille pendant ce temps de douleur et de perte. Léo a toujours été special pour la famille Vermette et très bon ami à Pa. I knew Leo and his family growing up in St. Lazare where I also met Rachel. I respected him and his family very much. I had the good fortune of working for many years with his son Michel, a very fine man in so many ways. I was shocked to read he had died and I am sorry I can't attend his funeral. Dear Josée - please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your dad. While I didn't know your father, from what I've read above, clearly "the apple does not fall far from the tree." He was, no doubt, a gem of a human being who helped raise a wonderful daughter like you who shares the same caring attitude he showed for others with a clear "joie de vivre". Très chère Josée, Tim, Sébastien et Geneviève (et les autres membres de la famille Roy que nous n’avons pas encore rencontrés): Toutes nos sympathies les plus sincères. Nous ne connaissions pas Léo mais on ne peut avoir une fille aussi magnifique que Josée sans avoir de parents hors pairs. Nous sommes avec vous de tout coeur.
