BRUCE STUART WALKER Peacefully, dad passed away on December 9, 2017 at age 87, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Dad was born on January 28, 1930 in Sydney, Australia. In his youth, he was a recognized rower with the Haberfield Rowing Club. In 1955, he decided to make a move to North America to experience a new life. He travelled extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. After he found a new opportunity in Toronto, he discovered the calling that would remain his life's work, being a Stock Broker. He met his wife Eva Baltruschat and they married in 1958. After taking a Branch Manager posting in Winnipeg in 1965 with McLeod Young Weir, dad enjoyed a very successful career in the Financial Industry until his retirement. In his later years, he loved keeping up with the daily financial news and had a constant interest in current affairs. Dad leaves to mourn his wife of 59 years, Eva; daughter Gail Mauricio (Ricardo); brother Barry Walker; nieces, Kimberley, Nicole and Sarah. Predeceased by his mother Madge Walker and brother Ronald Walker. The family would like give thanks to the staff at Extindacare Tuxedo Villa for their wonderful care in dad's final days. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place his ashes will eventually be scattered at Sydney Harbour as he had often requested. Donations in dad's honour may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
