Left to cherish his memory are sons, Ron (Carole), Brad (Lois), Rick (Jocelyn); daughter Charlene (Wes); grandchildren, Curtis (Jody), Michelle (Kevin), Brian (fiancee Paige), Stephanie, Vanessa; great-grandchildren, Evan, Grant, Madeleine and Emma; brothers, Glen (Kathy), Reuben (Tina) and Peter (Judy) and sister Joyce (Corny) as well as numerous family members. Dad was predeceased by his parents; six siblings and our mom Marge. Dad was born and raised in Steinbach. He moved to Winnipeg as a young man, where he met the love of his life (mein liebchen), Marge. Soon after they married, they started a family, moving to Transcona where they stayed for 41 years. Dad worked for Safeway as a meat manager/butcher for his entire career, retiring at the age of 61 years. He and mom realized their retirement dream and moved to Patricia Beach where they spent the next seven years until health issues forced them back to the city. After mom's passing in 2013, dad was well taken care of by Charlene and her family until his passing. As dad lived out his final years, he continued to look forward to the family gatherings with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of dad's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital 3E for their care during dad's brief stay, as well as Pastor Keith Thompson of Cornerstone Baptist Church. So many fond memories of Uncle Ken (& Auntie Marge).....particularly memories of Christmas celebrations when Oma was still with us. Always lots of fun playing games with Ron,Bud, Chico ( aka Rick) and the baby in the family- Charlene while our parents were solving “all the world’s problems”! Hugs to all of you; the end of a major chapter in your lives. - Margy & Ed - Posted by: Margy Nelson (Niece) on: Dec 17, 2017

Really enjoyed working with Ken. He took pride in his work and always wore a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humor that all the staff enjoyed. May he Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Wayne Buzahora (Co-worker at Safeway) on: Dec 16, 2017
