GEORGE WIEBE It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father George Wiebe. He passed away in his sleep on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Betel Home, Gimli, MB. George was born December 22, 1933. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce (nee Yeske) and brother-in-law Paul Penn. He leaves to mourn his son Douglas (Ginette); grandson Michael (Jenna); two great-grandchildren, Payton and Guinevere. He also leaves one sister Helen; brother Elmer and niece Cheryl. Dad lived a simple life. He drove truck for many years. He was quite the pool shark in his younger days. George was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed camping and sitting by the fire with a whiskey. He also loved to vacation in the Okanogan Valley. He enjoyed spending time at our house in the country. George moved to Betel Home Foundation in Gimli, in October 2013. He made many friends there and loved to play Bingo and crib. We'd like to thank Dr. Jon Saper and all the wonderful staff at Betel. Cremation has taken place and as per his wishes, no funeral will be held. Condolences may be left at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.

  • As his chiropractor, George would attend my office for the occasional appointment over the last 30 years or so. During the last few years I saw less and less of him especially after his move to Gimli. I always enjoyed our visits especially when the conversation inevitably turned to politics. Those who knew George know that he had strong opinions in this area and wasn't afraid to express them. It was a lot of fun. I'll miss him. Condolences to Doug and the family. - Posted by: Dr John Wiens (chiropractor) on: Dec 19, 2017
