KEITH OLAFSON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Olafson on December 5, 2017 in Selkirk, Manitoba, at the age of 84 years. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jackie and his three children, Alan Keith (Lori), Glenn Robert (Karon) of Victoria, BC and Charlene Mae (Allan). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Garrett and Ellyse Olafson, and Cole and Chase Gobert. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. After a short career in the hardware and automotive industries, Keith began his career as a manufacturer's representative in 1960 with one of his most notable first lines being Garnet Amplifiers. In 1967, he started his own company Olafson Agency which he proudly represented high-end stereo/audio equipment and accessories for 50 years. Throughout his career, Keith was highly respected and made many friends throughout his travels in his territory. Keith was a member of the Masonic Lodge and in 1970 joined the Khartum Temple of The Shrine. In 1971, he joined the Khartum Drum & Bugle Corps where he remained an active and proud member. In 2000, Keith was President of the Interlake Shrine Club where he presided for another for two years. Sandy Hook was an important and most special place for Keith, being a resident since his mother purchased the lot in 1950. In 1979, Keith and Jackie built their new home on the same property where they have enjoyed many, many years of good times and cherished family moments. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff on the palliative ward of the Selkirk Regional Health Centre. At Keith's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Keith's wonderful life will be held for family and friends this summer, 2018. Rest in peace. We love you so very much. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Keith was one of my all time favorite patrons when I worked at the local library. He always had a funny story to tell us and would make us all laugh and laugh. Such a nice man. Jackie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very sad time. - Posted by: Melanie Dryden (friend) on: Dec 24, 2017
