ROBERT WARDEN Bob passed away peacefully December 15, 2017. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Sylvia; two sons, Stephen and Robert; his beloved grandchildren, Jake, Sam, Hunter, Jilian and Max; great friends in Winnipeg (especially the White/English clan); and extended family in Canada, America, and the U.K. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, January 12, 1931, Bob joined the British Merchant Navy and saw the world, before coming to Canada and working for Cara Operations in Winnipeg, Halifax and Montreal. He read a boxcar of books, listened to Sinatra in the wee hours, looked after his family, caught the odd fish and played a mean harmonica. Special thanks to the staff at Riverview Palliative Care 3E for their great care and compassion. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I just learned of Robert's passing. Belated condolences to the family. He was a great neighbor and acquaintance. I always looked forward to and enjoyed our bantering. Loved his stories and sense of humour. His infamous tool box. Knowing he was ill I should have payed more attention; I don’t make a habit of following obituaries. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. He'd understand with a his sarcastic smile. Be happy my friend. - Posted by: Glen Kohlmeier (Neighbor) on: Apr 18, 2018

  • Dear Sylvia & Family, So very sorry to learn of Robert's passing. Sylvia & Robert would visit with my parents when I was a young girl. Robert had a keen sense of humor and at times I wasn't sure if he had us on or was simply telling the truth. He will be truly missed. I wish you all well during this trying time. Much love & prayers. - Posted by: Karen Springett (Friend of family) on: Mar 18, 2018

  • Sylvia, Stephen & Robert. So sorry to see Roberts in memoriam in todays paper. Robert was the ultimate gentleman, great husband, father, and am sure a wondeful grandfather as well. Many fond memories as I look back through the years. We had many pub visits and I loved to hear about his wonderful past life. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
