NICOLAE (NIC) MACAVEI 1958 - 2017 Nicolae was born in 1958 in Petrosani, Romania. He was the son of the late Maria and Anton and brother of Miruna. He completed his high school in Petrosani, then went on to Brasov where he completed an engineering degree in the Faculty of Forestry. He then moved back to Petrosani and worked as a forestry engineer and eventually in 1989, he opened up his own business. He was an entrepreneur and took on numerous business ideas in order to provide for his family. In 1987, he married Silvana, whom he met in grade one. The two of them had two children, Vlad and Iulia. They moved to Canada in 2004 and continued their life in Winnipeg. His passion for nature started early in his life and continued on throughout. With sadness, he leaves behind their two children and their mother and his new partner Cielo and her children. An afternoon to remember will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. All are welcome to join us in the celebration of Nic's life.
