JOSEPH HARTLEY BABIAK It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Hartley on December 29, 2017 at St. Boniface Hospital. In the 1980s Hartley and Carol started to take Caribbean cruises regularly (20 plus) as well as a Mediterranean cruise and a Danube River cruise. Hartley's favourite vacation was always cruising. He was able to enjoy one last cruise in the winter of 2017 with his granddaughter Scarlett who always put a sparkle in Hartley's eye. As well as many visits to Disney World and long bus tours of Western Europe, Great Britain, Eastern Canada and the U.S. Annually, Hartley and Carol visited his brother Chuck in Alberta / British Columbia and more recently Mark in Alberta. A beautifully written summary of Hartley's life story. Greg certainly shares the same interest for travel and billiards, as well as family time. Sincere condolences to all the family for their loss. - Posted by: Doreen A. Hutton (Cousin of Chrissy Hasse) on: Jan 05, 2018

My condolences. I haven't seen Harley in many years. Brings back a memory. Back in early 1950's, there was a vacant lot on the corner of Cockburn and Dudley. The kids in the neighbourhood used to congregate there on the early evening and Harley used to tell us spooky stories. I recall he was very good storyteller back then. R.I.P. Harley. - Posted by: Roman (Ron) Senkiw (Old Friend ) on: Jan 05, 2018

Hart has been a life long true friend: he will be sorely missed. Glad I had a long chat with him just days before his passing: he was excited about the upcoming holidays and all that turkey. Carol, Mark, Greg and families; you have my deepest sympathy. It is unfortunate that I will be unable to attend the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
