DORIS EDITH COX Doris Edith Cox passed away peacefully on Sunday December 31, 2017 at Park Manor Care at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her husband Ken, her parents Ernest and Edith Northcliffe, brothers Ernie and Leonard. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ken (Carol), Larry (Darlene), Beverly (Bill); her grandchildren, Alison (Frank), Rhonda (Mike), Nathan (Glenda), Lindsay (Steve), Shannon (Dan); and great-grandchildren, Tyra (Jonas), Taylor, Jori, Ashton, Deegan, Alexis, Kayla, Lillian and Aiden; her sister-in-law Judy Cox; and her brother-in-law Al Peatfield. Doris was born on Dubuc Street in St. Boniface on June 24, 1921, moved to Transcona when she was very young and resided there the rest of her life. She was a devoted member of Confidence Rebekah Lodge No. 40 for over 68 years. In her younger years, she and her husband Ken enjoyed skating, square dancing and later on, their Saturday night "dates", dinner and a show. Doris loved knitting, crocheting, baking, bingo, five pin bowling, cribbage, doing jigsaw puzzles and cleaning blueberries. She spent many years with her family at Ottermere, Ontario. She was very proud of her children and had a strong love for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the kind and compassionate staff at Park Manor for their warmth and wonderful care shown to Mom during her three year plus stay with them. Cremation has taken place, there will be a private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Manor Care Therapeutic Recreation Department, The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.   • Sorry for your loss. Seems just yesterday that I saw your mom either at the train station at Ottermere or sitting in her chair in Transcona Place. I am sure you have many fond memories of your mom. Those ladies were a hardy lot from Transcona and always were involved in the community.
