MARGARET JEAN BASKERVILLE (nee RENTON) June 18, 1930 - December 19, 2017 After 87 joyous years of living life to the fullest, Jean has joined her beloved husband of 50 years, Cliff, her brothers, Bud and Bill, and her parents, George and Eleanor. Jean had a wonderful childhood filled with music, friends, and many family adventures on Warsaw Avenue in Winnipeg. She loved her 32 year career which started as a primary teacher in Winnipeg and eventually led to her long career as a nursery and kindergarten teacher at Ginew School. Jean's career took her to Dominion City where she met and married Cliff, after she led him on a merry chase for seven years before she finally said, "I Do!" Together, they devoted their lives to their children, Judy, Kathy, and Gordon, welcomed their spouses, Bruce, Don, and Kim and eventually, their precious grandchildren, Tyler, Kathleen, Sarah, Eric, Kaden, and Kian. Jean, dubbed "Buna" by Tyler, made everything an adventure for her family, turning snowstorms and puddles into exciting events. She had a spirited glint in her eye and a ready smile for everyone. Jean was a woman of steadfast integrity, enthusiasm, and energy who devoted her life to her family, friends, and teaching. She was always kind and in awe over how lucky she was, expressing gratitude for all her blessings right up to the end. Jean's devotion, boundless energy, creativity, intelligence, enthusiasm for nature, fearlessness, and contentment were inspirational to all of us. Her family is grateful for the support of the incredible community of Dominion City and to Jean's many friends. A special thank-you goes to Rick and Denise, Donna Mae, and the St. Norbert Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness or sing a happy song for Jean, who had a song for EVERYTHING and never stopped singing. In keeping with Jean's wishes, a private interment will take place in the spring. INTEGRITY Cremation & Funeral Planning 204 295 5408 -- IntegrityDeathCare.com

  • Kathy, we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. I remember when you were teaching school at St. Amant Place in St. Vital. I had taken my kid to a Tea there and had visited the many kids and we met up with you while we were making the rounds. Cherish all the good memories you have of your Mother. • So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a big help to me when I first started teaching at the primary school in Dominion City. I enjoyed spending time having coffee with her and Dorothy Stewart. Jean was always friendly and welcoming and had a wonderful laugh. - Posted by: Moya Geddes (friend) on: Jan 16, 2018

  • Dear Baskerville family, Miss Renton was my beloved Grade Two teacher at Sir John Franklin. I still have our class photo and she had not changed so much in the intervening 54 years. My memories of that year are strong and happy ones. I am glad to read that she has lived a long happy and fulfilled life, and I extend my condolences to you on her passing. - Posted by: Heather Henderson (student) on: Jan 16, 2018
