KURT JOHN STILLFRIED REGITNIG
Date of Passing: Jan 03, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKURT JOHN STILLFRIED REGITNIG 1927 - 2018 Kurt John Stillfried Regitnig, aged 90, passed peacefully on January 3, 2018. He was born and raised in Morris and resident of St. Vital, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn wife Adeline (Bargenda), daughter Kim, plus nieces, nephews, family and friends across North America. He was predeceased by his daughter Tracy, parents Peter and Juliana, and six brothers and sisters. In his career as a long distance truck driver he delivered fuel oil in the frigid Manitoba winter, was an ice road trucker hauling boats to northern Manitoba, transported heavy equipment across North America and liquid gas to hospitals. He was respected for his driving skills, professionalism and willingness to always lend a hand to his fellow drivers, no matter where they were from or whom they drove for. A long time member of La Verendrye Game and Fish Association he enjoyed coordinating ice fishing derbies and organizing antler-judging competitions. And he loved just getting out in nature, whether he caught something or not. But his true passion was his garden. He cultivated no less than five or six varieties of corn each year, ensuring a harvest from early summer to late fall, as well as tomatoes, zucchini, etc. All of which he was happy to share with family, friends and neighbours. Many were the lucky recipients of a Halloween pumpkin from him. We will miss his many stories, his sense of humour and terrific smile. I have heard people asked what they would say to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates... he'd better be ready for a LONG story!! In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Kurt was an amazing man. Kurt and Adeline were our first neighbors in our new home starting a family. That was 29 years ago. They were the best neighbours ever and loved the children Austin and Travis. Learnt a lot from them with gardening and canning not to mention the delicious food that was shared with our family. As years past Kurt always popped in at the cabin after his derby to say hello!! Actually came out this past summer. Such a strong and caring man. Kurt you will be missed so much we are so privileged to have had you be a part of our lives. ❤️ - Posted by: Colleen Berg (Old neighbour on Sadler) on: Jan 11, 2018
