I am so shocked. I met Sharon back in 1983. I moved into the same complex that she lived in on Pipeline Rd., Winnipeg. We became instant friends. She was my Maid of Honour in November of 1984 when I got married. I remember Scott and Michael very well. They were young kids at the time. Wonderful boys! I eventually moved away to the United States with my husband and son in 1987 but we kept in touch. Whenever we visited Winnipeg Sharon and I would always get together. At Christmas we would always send each other a Christmas card and she would put a note in it as to how everything was going and we would write letters to each other from time to time. I'm not on Facebook so we hadn't kept in touch that way. I knew of her breast cancer but that was a long time ago. I was going through my old address book and decided to check up on her to see how she is doing. I went onto the internet to see if I can find her when I came across her obituary. I am so shocked and saddened by her death. I would never have thought. I am so sad for Scott and Michael. I don't know if you would remember me, you guys were pretty young. I know its been two years now since she has been gone but I wanted to say that she was such a great friend, always genuine and funny. Unfortunately when you move so far away (I live in Arizona and have been here for 30 years) its hard to stay in touch. My condolences to you Scott and Michael and your families. My heart goes out to you. - Posted by: Arlene Harris (Best friend) on: Jan 16, 2021

I worked with Sharon for 11 years at the agency formerly known as Children's Home. I will always remember her as the heart and soul of the RAP/TERF programs. She always represented both programs with the utmost professionalism and treated the clients with warmth and respect. Sharon had a wonderful joy of life and I am so sorry hers was cut short. My condolences to her sons and family. - Posted by: Vikki Wood (former co-worker) on: Feb 01, 2018

I met Sharon when she and her family moved in next door to us when they first came from Calgary. I babysat the boys! Such adorable kids. Sharon was so generous and friendly and was like a big sister during my teen years. Very sad to see that she has passed (we recently re-connected via FB in the last couple of years) Condolences to Scott and Michael. - Posted by: Patty (Friend ) on: Jan 12, 2018
