MARY ANNE YUSISHEN (nee MAYBRODA) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Anne Yusishen (nee Maybroda) on January 5, 2018 at the age of 66. Marry Anne died peacefully with her husband by her side at Selkirk General Hospital. Mary Anne is survived by Larry, her loving husband of 45 years; daughters, Sheree and Amanda; her grandson, Hunter ('The Professor'); aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Maybroda, mother Minnie Maybroda and sister Vivian Maybroda-Silverman, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mary Anne was born on February 28, 1951 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Joseph and Minnie Maybroda. She married Larry Yusishen on October 28, 1972 and welcomed their first daughter Sheree in 1975. The family moved from Winnipeg to Lockport and welcomed their second daughter, Amanda in 1979. Mary Anne was an accomplished drapery seamstress who worked alongside her mother for many years. Mary Anne was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was always there for her husband when he needed her support, especially as his health declined. She was there for her daughters when they needed advice, and for her grandson Hunter when he wanted her hugs and kisses. Mary Anne embraced life, being thankful for every moment. She was always searching for the next item to check off her 'bucket list.' Mary Anne welcomed everyone into her house with open arms, ensuring no one left without having a good meal and a care-package of her fantastic treats to take home. A celebration of Mary Anne's life will be held on January 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden (4477 Main Street, West St. Paul) with Rev. Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mary Anne's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca). • Larry, Our heart goes out to you, the girls and the rest of your family. We were very sad to learn of Mary Ann's passing. A wonderful, wonderful lady. It seams it was only a few months ago that we left Manitoba, trailers, trucks and cars all loaded with our treasures for our new home. The treasures I'm talking about were All hand made by our dear friend, Mary Ann. House, sight unseen by her going by MY measurements only. A flawless and amazing job and all cudos go to her. I remember how worried she was, hoping everything was just perfect (as she always did). When we arrived here she made me call to let her know how things looked. Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful, as was she. I still have those works of art hanging in each of our rooms. Larry, regretfully, I can't be there at her celebration of life, but believe me, as I go from room to room, I remember every conversation with her about the masterpiece she created for that room. Even after all this time that has passed, they all still look amazing!!! A beautiful lady that will be missed by many. I have and will continue to think about her often. Please accept our utmost sincere condolences. Gerry and Linda Demski Peachland British Columbia - Posted by: Linda Demski (Friend ) on: Jan 10, 2018

  • What a beautiful tribute! Mary Anne was such an amazing, happy and welcoming soul. She was so incredibly supportive and always made the effort to reach out to me and remind me that Alexandre and I had an extended family. When I think of her, the first thing I think of is her smile and her laugh. She always had a fun spirit and we had many laughs. Alexandre and I are so thankful for the time we had with her and she will always be remembered and deeply loved. My deepest condolences to you Larry, Sheree, Amanda and extended family for you loss.
