He was born on November 24, 1942, in Camiling Tarlac, Philippines, to (Tatang) Eusebio and (Enang) Ana Natividad. He graduated from Northwestern High School. Rufo was a hardworking and self-supporting student, which led him to obtaining a Bachelor's of Commerce degree at the Far Eastern University of the Philippines. Post-graduation, Rufo worked at the Equitable Bank of the Philippines. In 1960, he met and fell in love with Victoria Del Rosario, and they were married in 1965. Rufo came to Canada in 1974, and was joined by his wife and children in 1975. His business sense and hard work led to him being part owner of Thompson Plastic and he retired at Spartec Industry at the age of 65. Rufo enjoyed spending time with family and friends, travelling within Canada and overseas, and taking road trips south of the border. He especially loved gardening vegetables at his home in Birds Hill. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Victoria; his five children Ana (Ron), Ruby (Ranilo), Michel (Vickie), Elmer (Dolores) and Roy (Christine); his 16 grandchildren; and his three siblings Elena (Jamie), Catalina (Jerry) and Jesus (Erna). The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards all doctors, nurses, and support staff of A5, the OR recovery room, and RR6 at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and caring throughout this whole process.
