SANDRA (SANDY) MCINTYRE 1951-2018
Date of Passing: Jan 06, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA (SANDY) MCINTYRE 1951-2018 Sadly, while on vacation in Mexico, Sandra 'Sandy' McIntyre died unexpectedly on January 6, 2018 at the age of 66. Born Sandra Helen Fridfinnson on December 30, 1951 to Andres and Lilian Fridfinnson, Sandra was the second of three children. Raised in Elmwood, Sandra attended George V Elementary school, David Thomson junior high and Elmwood high school. She left high school before graduating but went back later in life and completed her GED and took accounting and bookkeeping courses at the local high school. Sandra first met Brian in the Fall of 1967 and spent as many weekends as they could together going to the movies. They were apart for a number of years and reconnected again in 1974 and were then married six weeks later. They were blessed with three children, Janet (Jason) Rogowsky, Colin, Serena (Marc) Robertson. Sandra was enormously proud of her grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Austyn, Sarah, and Mason. Sandy worked hard and for many years providing bookkeeping and income tax services through her own small business. Many of her clients became cherished lifelong friends. Sandra had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh and have fun. She had a very soft spot for animals and had many adored pets over the years. In recent years, Mom and Dad realized their love of travel and enjoyed many trips with and to visit family and friends. Road trips across Canada and the US were an adventure and there was always a story to tell when they got home. Other memories were made in the United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. In addition to her husband and children she leaves behind her sister Elaine (Gerry), brother Lloyd (Monica), and their children as well as many extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Sandra will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Mackenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL 204-467-2525 info@mackenziefh.com

So sorry to hear of Sandy's passing, but take comfort in knowing she was enjoying a holiday! Sandy was our oldest son's first babysitter, when he was just 4 months old! I was lucky enough to be able to go over on my lunch hours, feed my son, myself and have a great visit with Sandy everyday. Her love of animals was a bit understated, I think! May the family take comfort in the crazy memories you have of Sandy! - Posted by: Joy and Fraser Sime (friend) on: Jan 14, 2018
