Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMOGENS HANS BONDESEN December 2, 1923 - January 8, 2018 Mogens was predeceased by his wife Tina (nee-Froese). He is survived by son Bruce Bondesen (Tammara), and daughter Edna Bondesen (Rebecca) of Vancouver, and grandchildren Amelia, Alexis, and Adrian. Mogens, better known as "Slim" will also be missed by his good friends Barb, Cheryl, and April Ibey, Gary Walker and many others at Lions Manor. Dad was the last of nine siblings who immigrated to Canada almost 100 years ago. He worked a variety of jobs in the early years but most enjoyed his employment working for City of Winnipeg. He was a devout Yankees fan and in later years travelled the world on many boat cruises. Slim was well known for his sense of humour and happy to share a joke anytime. It was that humour that helped get him through many hospital visits. Special thanks to the wonderful staff that provided his comfort care at St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has already taken place and at dad's request there will be no memorial service. Dad was a supporter of Siloam Mission. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 9Z9 in memory of him. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

We had never met Mogens, but if he was anything like his son Bruce and daughter Edna he must have been a fine fellow indeed. Our thoughts are with the family. - Posted by: Brian & Eugena Pybus (Bruce's brother-in-law/sister-in-law) on: Feb 11, 2018

Dear Bruce and family, I remember your father (my great-uncle) when he used to come over and visit in Drummondville (Quebec) along with Aunt Eris. He was funny and had that special Bondesen trait of being kind. My grandparents were happy when he came over. I do have videos of your father in the 80s having fun at camp. As I look at the picture that was submitted for the obituary, I see my grandfather Svend (James)...the family traits are incredible. My condolences to you and your family. Dear Uncle Mogens, may you rest in peace, and be reunited with my Grand-Father, Svend and my Great Aunt Eris. I only wish you lived closer to us, I will always cherish the memory of you playing Frisbee with my sister and I at our Grand-Mother's cottage in Drummond-ville. Your height made it quite difficult to catch the Frisbee, something we had quit a good laugh at, as we had to jump and run so far to try and catch it. Rest in Peace, God Bless You. - Posted by: Sophie David (Great Uncle) on: Jan 20, 2018

Slim was a breath of fresh air when he arrived into our office. He was intriguing and friendly and knew what he wanted. Watching him strut across the street to catch his bus he often reminded me of Icabod Crane from the Headless Horseman in Disney! RIP - Posted by: Jim and Karen Bell (Travel Agent) on: Jan 18, 2018
