Date of Passing: Jan 11, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN BORISKEWICH November 16, 1937 - January 11, 2018 With sorrow, we announce the passing of Steve Boriskewich on January 11, son of Paul and Lucy. Steve is survived by Diane, his wife of 29 years, and his sister Kathy; his children, Dean (Lynne), Gary (Miriam), Brenda (Dennis), Mark (Eileen), Lisa (Rick), Rhonda (Wayne) and Darla (Amanda) and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren and great-children whom he adored. Steve is predeceased by his first wife Irene; his baby son Barry and siblings, Mike and Mary. Steve was born on his parent's farm in Anola and spent his life surrounded by friends and family in the Springfield area. He owned and ran the Anola General Store for 14 years and had an impressive 24 year career with Manitoba Hydro. After retirement, he turned his love of gardening and the outdoors into his final occupation when he launched his own skid-steer business in the Springfield area. Steve loved his weekends at the cottage, boating and waterskiing in the summer and snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter, often with the Vanachtes and Lumsdens. He loved being around people and could often be found cooking and sampling food in his kitchen in Dugald, giving out hugs and belly laughs and pouring everyone a "tizzy" of their favourite drink. To know Steve was to love him and to be loved by him. Simply stated, his heart was enormous. He was a generous, compassionate man who lived to make others happy. He was known far and wide for his kind heart and gentle spirit and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory may be made to the Dugald Estates/United Church 800 Jaffray Street, Dugald, MB ROE OK1 or a charity or organization of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the OakBank Baptist Church, 26033 Springfield Road, OakBank. seasonsfunerals.ca

I’ve known Steve for several years now, and he has always been a good person and a good friend. I first met Steve when he came back to work for Manitoba Hydro and he was well-liked by all who met him and worked with him. When we moved to Dugald about five years ago, he was one of the first people to drop by and welcome us. Also, he introduced me to the old guys coffee club, and drove me there regularly. He made me go outside of my comfort zone by this after my stroke, and for that I’ll always be grateful. He was a good man, and I will miss him. My condolences to all of you in this difficult time. - Posted by: Ed North (Friend/co-worker) on: Jan 14, 2018

I will always remember how Steve would say, “hows my Sheryl!”, then with his arms open would give me the biggest, most comforting hug in the world!. Steve and Irene would visit my mom and dad, when i was very little and i would always try to get into the car and go home with them!. Wonderful people, wonderful man.
