Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAIL WILSON Mom has gone to be with her father Garnet, her mother Isabel, and her sister Linda. She leaves to mourn her husband Len, children, grandchildren, her sister Patricia and family from coast to coast. Gail Isabel Wilson (nee Griffith) passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. Gail was born on April 8, 1939 with bright, blue eyes. Dad loves her blue eyes, Len's wife of 57 years. Gentle by nature, never meaning harm. Always a perfect smile. That blue eyed, pretty brunette from St Vital. That handsome, tall dark haired man from St. James. A family of five turned into a family of 17. She was never wanting. Her only wish was to have her children safe and around her. We are here Mom. Son Grant, (Barb) and granddaughters Katy, Beth and Jordyn, great-grandsons Liam and Ayden; son Cam, (Chantal), grandsons Shael and Alden; daughter Kathryn, (Jody), grandsons Wolfgang and Sebastian. Those blue eyes saw it all. She saw her sons becomes fathers. She saw her daughter get married and become a mom. That was the time we asked for and received. But most of all, she saw her husband love her, like we have never seen another man love. We saw you too Mom. We know what you did for us. We thank you Mom. We saw you on the carpet with our kids. We saw you snatch our babies out of our arms before you even said hello to us. We saw you and Dad kiss when he left for the day and kiss when he came home. We saw your handwriting and knew you were Santa. We saw you on the beach, cold and waiting for us to come in from our swim at night. We saw you smile Mom, we heard your giggle. We see you too Dad. We cannot talk about Mom without mentioning you. We saw your relationship with Mom, we watched how a man should treat a woman they love. We saw how you cared for her. Hours and hours of sitting beside the bed, unresponsive to anyone's touch. Yet Len leans in and whispers "kiss me my love" and she opens her eyes, searches for him and motions a kiss. Then closes her eyes again. Mom knew that she was given the gift of life, and one day it had to be returned. Love you Mom, All of us... Ps: we really did not know you were Santa... We opened our presents too fast to check handwriting. Special thank you to the incredible staff at the Grace Hospital for not only their care, but their compassion. You all have been our angels over the last couple of weeks and for that we are all extremely grateful. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the "Victoria Beach Medical Fund", c/o 705-1661 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3T7. They saved Mom's life, twice. They gave us more time... A memorial service at Chapel Lawn will be held in the spring for a celebration of Gail's life. My Tuesdays will never be the same now that I can't visit my dear friend Gail. We shared many memories of times together, how we had all our kids at Victoria Beach, the fun we had, trips to Grand Forks, and visits from Len and Gail and the kids when we were not living in Winnipeg. I miss and love you Gail, be at peace. Love to Len, Grant, Cameron, and Kathie, and their families....Barb xoxo - Posted by: Barbara Wilson (sister-in-law and friend) on: Feb 11, 2018

Terry and I were saddened by the news of Gail's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Len and the family at this very difficult time. We have many happy memories of our visits with Len and Gail over the last several years on our trips to Winnipeg from the West Coast. We will miss Gail's sense of humour and winning smile. A special memory of our road trip to Carmel, California in 2010 with Len and Gail, Caroline and John Poloni and Terry and I will long be remembered as a wonderful family trip when we enjoyed great company, food, much laughter and a "few beverages". The memory of Gail will live in our hearts forever. - Posted by: Terry and Freda Wilson (Brother-inlaw and Sister-in-law) on: Jan 30, 2018

My aunt was a woman of strength and dignity. I always admired how she was as a mother, and her commitment as a wife of 57 years. Our families had such fun growing up and she was certainly a staple in this. I will miss her wit and laughter. She will be forever in my heart. As she used to say... “Bye for now hon, talk at you later” Xoxo Susan - Posted by: Susanne Wilson (Niece ) on: Jan 21, 2018

One could not help loving Gail. She always had a smile on her face, a wonderful dry sense of humour, I loved to laugh around her, with a passionate regard for her family, a loving and giving heart. Not a false bone in her body. When I heard of her passing, memories of our times together in Winnipeg, the Wilson family, the Gaul family (my married family), the Hoffman family (my sister) bringing up our children together. So many memories have coursed through my mind. I don't think I have ever told this to anyone, but Gail reminded me of Carol Burnett....the same smile, the same sense of humour and delivery. She was a joy to be with and around! Those shared times in Winnipeg, though distant, are near and dear to me. Rest in peace, dear sister. Love goes with you. My thoughts are with Len and the family today. The cog in the wheel is broken but the wheel will keep turning—this is what Gail would want. There is now another angel in heaven. - Posted by: Gary Oko (Family friend) on: Jan 20, 2018
