Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES JEREMA (nee SLIVA) November 24, 1923 - January 16, 2018 With heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Frances Jerema on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the age of 94. She has joined her husband Sam, son Peter, sons-in-law Eddy and Cyril, and many other dear friends and family. Mom will be deeply missed by her children Ken, Gerry Holunga, Phyllis Marshall and Cheryl Schick (Grant), daughter-in-law Debbie, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, along with sister Carol, brother Edward, and sister-in-law Verna. Mom was born in Arborg, Manitoba and married Dad November 15, 1941. Upon his return from overseas they settled in Anola to raise their family. Mom was a hard worker throughout her life. She worked tirelessly on her garden and was rewarded with abundant vegetables and flowers that she generously shared with many grateful visitors. She was a wonderful cook and was known widely for her delicious cabbage rolls, perogies and piroshky. She was a dedicated and valued volunteer within the community. She willingly shared her time and talents and was recognized as a volunteer of outstanding merit in the Province of Manitoba. Two of her favourite pastimes were playing bingo and singing in the church choir, and it was heartwarming to see that she was able to enjoy both bingo and singing activities well into her later years. Mom had a strong faith and love of God and the members of her church community were particularly important to her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Father Owen and a warm thank you to the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank who showed so much compassion in their care for Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Box 265, Anola, MB R0E 0A0. Pallbearers are Murray Daigle, Cory Marshall, Jamie Marshall, Jason Palmer, Sam Jerema and Chris Schick. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, 34131 Hwy. 15. Interment to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, 69069 Cooks Creek Road. seasonsfunerals.ca
