BERNICE WARMS 1926 - 2018 Peacefully with her daughter Karen at her side, Bernice passed away on January 16, 2018 in Winnipeg at the age of 91. Bernice is survived by her daughter Karen, grandchildren, Whitney, Ben, Kait, Carson and Anna. Her husband Walter predeceased her in 2010 and their youngest daughter Diane Warms-Vogels tragically in 2009. Bernice had a special place in her heart for her sons-in-law, Hugh McGeary and Peter Vogels and her nephew Jimmy Bangart. Bernice was born in Winnipeg (nee Bangart), attended West Kildonan High School and the University of Manitoba. After marrying Walter in 1951 she enjoyed being a stay at home mum raising her two daughters. Bernice was active in the Shrine and Khartum Ladies Auxiliary, becoming President in 1988. She was an avid card player and she made many lifelong friendships and fond memories of times spent at their cottage in Toniata Beach at Falcon Lake. Bernice was a warm, fun loving, gentle spirit, deeply devoted to family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. A special thank you to the Riverview palliative care unit for their outstanding care and compassion through Bernice's final days. Cremation will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Karen, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a lovely lady with a quick smile and an easy giggle. Always, so welcoming to us 6 Wheelers that "invaded" the Toniata cottage in the 60's and 70's. I, along with my siblings, have the fondest of memories of the Warms family! - Posted by: Wendy Eakins (nee Wheeler), Calgary. (Daughter of one of your mother's lifelong friends.) on: Feb 24, 2018

  • Karen - we heard about your Mom's death through Susan F. We actually were in Winnipeg when you were and would have connected. Our great sympathy to you all. It does not matter how old they are our Mom and Dad are still our Mom and Dad and it is always hard. Take care of yourself - hope we will be be able to be together again sometime.
