Mr. Kaczmarek’s willingness for adventure has left an indelible mark on me. “Why not?,” he would reply to my questions of why he did what he did. Sometimes, when I am contemplating something unusual, I am reminded of him and almost hear his voice asking, … “why not?” We send our heartfelt condolences to all of the family. - Posted by: Brian Aftanas (Friend of the family) on: Jan 28, 2018

Peter was one of dad's oldest friends dating back to their days in Sweden. How their paths inadvertently reconnected in Winnipeg in the late 1950's was remarkable. Added to this was his befriending of my future mother-in-law (Gladys Kulas) in the early 1960's creating a common bond that I discovered but a few years ago when we last saw Peter at his exhibit at Ogniwo. My mother Anna has two of Peter's paintings hanging in her house in Calgary and she was happy to be able to see Peter at his exhibit. Tom, Nina and Michael, on behalf of our family we wanted to extend are condolences to you and your families. Blessings Don and Anna-Marie - Posted by: Kulas-Malinowski family () on: Jan 28, 2018

Remembering Wujcio Zygmunt, We can’t think of our childhood without recalling how connected our family was with the Kaczmarek family. There would always be lots of music, singing, joking and laughter at every special occasion that brought us together. We were especially excited whenever we got to spend time at the Kaczmarek cottage at West Hawk Lake. Ghost stories in the boathouse, sailing, swimming and exploring filled our days there - while our parents reminisced and solved world problems no doubt. Wujcio Zygmunt in his charismatic way, had a presence that everyone loved to be around. We kids were always in awe of each new artistic creation that he dreamed up. From music to painting, woodworking to photography - Wujcio’s creativity inspired us to experiment with our own photography and creativity and gave us an appreciation for the beauty of nature and artistic flair. We still treasure his paintings and other artwork that lived in our parents’ home and now have a place in our own homes and cottage. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family. We are secure in knowing that together with our dad and so many close friends who have gone before him, Wujcio Zygmunt is definitely in great company now. Zygmunt was a gifted artist who was able to translate his vision using many different media. He loved nature and Canadian landscape and was proud of his Polish heritage. His vibrancy and 'bigger than life' personality will be missed within the community. - Posted by: Christine Tabbernor (Friend) on: Jan 24, 2018
