ERIC LUDWIK WAZNY After a courageous battle with cancer; it is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Eric Wazny on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the age of 70 years. He spent his last days at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Eric is survived by his loving wife of 48 years of marriage, Barbara Wazny; daughter Karen Gill (Jag Gill); sister Evelyn Prucyk; mother-in-law Frances Gursky; sisters-in-law Margaret Schilke (Don Schilke), Gwen Miller (Gary Shimun), Myrna Wazny; brothers-in-law Glenn Gursky (Deb Roberts), Dwayne Gursky; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Walter Wazny; mother Victoria Wazny; brother Robert Wazny; sister Jane Wazny; father-in-law Joseph Gursky; brother-in-law Leon Prucyk; and sister-in-law Karen Gursky. On April 26, 1947, Eric was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, and was raised on the family farm in Oak Hammock, Manitoba. Once moving to Winnipeg, he worked as a Purchasing Agent for Manitoba Bridge, while still continuing to help his brother and parents maintain the farm. His greatest pride however, was becoming a stay at home Dad to help raise his daughter Karen. Eric enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and staying active. As per Eric's wishes, there will not be a formal service held. We would like to thank the staff at both CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre for their care.
