ELIZABETH SCOTT THOMSON (nee BRAUTIGAM) Elizabeth Scott Thomson (nee Brautigam) on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 104. Mom, granny, great-grandma will be sadly missed by her three sons, Jim (Vlieta) of Winnipeg, David (Pat) of Calgary and Dick (Rosalie) of Brandon. As well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bret (Andrea), child, Jessica; Todd (Ramona), children, Ella, Kate and Macy; and Jane (Chad), children, Everett and Carver; Erin (Matt) and Shane; Rick (Ang) and children, Lukas, Dylan and Hope; Mike (Kristin), children, Keira, Isabelle and Ryann; Tasha (Sheldon) and children, Kassidy and Mason; and Andrea (Curtis). Mom was predeceased by her husband Arthur (1991), her brothers, Ernest, Lorne, Clarence, Emerson, and Bill, sister Winnifred, and is survived by her sister Marion. Mom was born October 2, 1913 and grew up on a farm at Helston, MB. Mom went to Normal School in Winnipeg and taught for many years before marrying Arthur Thomson on July 19, 1941. They lived on the family farm at the West Prospect district. Mom was involved with the Trinity United Church and the UCW in which she was elected president. Mom and Dad moved off the farm into Portage, while Dad continued farming. Mom enjoyed her church activities, gardening, baking and spending time with family especially with her grandchildren. Mom moved to Winnipeg a few years after Dad's passing where she continued to live. Thank you to Southeast Personal Care Home for their care and kindness. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. A family service will be held in Portage la Prairie, MB at a later date.
