I just recently heard about Dick passing away. We had met through my shop years ago when he bought a custom jeep from us ......because of his easy going nature we became friends. Partially business mostly just genuine friendship. He would stop by for occasional visits or phone calls for advice on cars or to just check in. I would run into him at the racetrack or car shows or around our shops. Always friendly, very respectful, very witty with a great sense of humor. I even made a point of introducing my father in law and extended family from Trinidad to him as part of their Canadian tour. We laughed a lot. Always treated myself and my employees with a great amount of respect...even if we had made a mistake on his jeep. He was a true gentleman who was a pleasure to be around. I will miss him and his visits. Glenn @ Jeep Doctor - Posted by: glenn (businness contact/friend) on: Feb 15, 2018

Our deepest condolences to Dick's family, Marilyn and Gerry Fender. I first met Dick many years ago during the time he introduced senior hockey to the town of Niverville (Clippers) in the Hanover Tache Hockey League. I can honestly say that I admired Dick for his friendship, dedication, but especially the way he admired all involved. It was there that Dick immediately became so much more, truly a very good friend. I would often bump into him from time to time and he always made it a point of remembering our history and time together and wanting to catch up. I will miss you Tricky Dick, see you in the next life! - Posted by: Brad Dusik (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2018

I first got to know Dick when we both worked for Manitoba Hydro. When Dick started Village Enterprise I had the opportunity to work side by side with Dick for many years on all types of electrical projects and in all types of weather. We worked hard and we played hard and shared a lot of laughs. Dick had the unique ability to find humor in most types of situations good or bad. We spent many July long weekends at Roberts lodge and boating on LOWs where Chris learned to bare foot behind my boat. Dick was with me the night I met my wife Bev and I was with Dick the night he met Jill. Dick was my long time friend and he had a major impact on my life. His memory will remain with me forever. Our deepest sympathy to Jill and Chris and families. John & Bev. - Posted by: John (Friend) on: Feb 03, 2018

Our condolences to Jill. We only got the pleasure to know Dick and Jill for a very short time during the building phase of their new home but we could tell that we would have become very good long-term friends. He was meticulous, funny and always had a wave as he passed his "Old" neighbour in his truck or car. Cherish the memories Jill and know that if anything is needed in your time of loss, all you have have to do is reach out to your next door neighbours, Bob and Maureen. - Posted by: Bob and Maureen Spiers (Neighbours on St. George Place) on: Feb 03, 2018

I knew Dick from Manitoba Hydro days and later when I worked for a pipeline company. Dick and his crew were very professional with the tasks at hand. We worked a lot of hours together in all kinds of weather. When the day was done we shared a lot of laughs together. I would like to express my sympathy to the family with the knowledge that I had a lot of respect for him and missed the days we shared together. - Posted by: Denis Benoit (Friend) on: Feb 02, 2018

Our condolences to Jill and Chris and families. Dyck was a great friend and we will all miss him. There was never a dull moment when we were around Dyck, as we all know he was up to something, or telling a story from his past, or just talking about his next trip or work adventure. The time spent with him on the motorcycles, the race track, his shop or house are very dear memories. His values we're flawless and his work ethic was unstoppable.
