Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLEN (AL) WERSTIUK February 8, 1951 - January 29, 2018 It is with deep sorrow we mourn the sudden passing of Allen Stephen Werstiuk, who left us on January 29, 2018 at the age of 67. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Leigh Cox, his sons Chris (partner Carla), Dan, and his daughter Tracy; his grandson Justin Pay-Werstiuk. He will also be forever remembered by his mother Rose, sisters Sharon (Joe) Morrow, Diane (Mitch) Wasylnuk, and Irene Werstiuk; cousins Donnie, Dave, and Carol as well as many other cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Al was predeceased by his father Stephen. Al worked as a garage mechanic, at Petland for 10 years, and then New Flyer building buses. After a severe shoulder injury he was on compensation for 10 years, fighting them tooth and nail all the way. He "retired" at the age of 65. At a young age Al enjoyed playing pool and competitive arm wrestling. His passion, however, was cars, restoring old Chevy's, buying and selling parts. If there was an auction, he was there. In accordance with Al's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced to family and friends at a later date. Allen it has been a long time. Christmas is close now and I remember our friendship like it was yesterday. Your birthday was the day before mine and we always got together for a drink at the Dakota lounge. I miss our talks. You were the best friend a woman could have in a guy. Al and I knew each other from 1973 on. We always hung out but lost touch with each other as i moved away. There was a big group of us who always got together, Marilyn, Wilma, Ziggy, Garth, etc. I remember our social and after that we met at a camp site for the weekend. Leigh, We are so sorry to hear about the love of your life.. Our deepest condolences. Allen was a soft spoken, caring and loving man, who left this earth far too soon. Family was very important to him. Leigh, you were his strength, which he always talked about. We will miss him immensely. Our prayers are with the family.
