Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE EVELYN CHRISTIE SPENCE July 3, 1946 - January 31, 2018 Grace passed away at the age of 71 with family at her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Duncan and Evelyn Christie. She is survived by her husband Sandy; sons, Jamie (Crystal), Michael (Lindsay) and daughter Tyler (Neil); grandchildren, Shaye, Cole, Neil, Seth, Ethan, Nolan, Faith, Norah and Sadie; brothers, Duncan, Jim (Elly), Ross (Ellen) and many nieces and nephews. Grace and Sandy were married in 1966, while she was still working for the Toronto Dominion Bank. They lived their first four years in Highway Gardens Trailer Park in Lockport. She quit work to have their first child Jamie, they then moved to Rupertsland Boulevard where Grace grew up and they still live today. After the children grew up, she started working at the J.A. Hildes Northern Medical Unit in 1992. During her stay there, she was seconded by the Federal Government to work with F.N.I.H.B. for two years. She retired from the N.M.U. in 2010. Her summers were spent with friends, family and all the neighbours at their cottage in Beausejour where everyone would gather at the Spence's cabin on the Brokenhead River. Grace's passion for baking was cherished by everyone who knew her. She had a fun loving spirit that was an inspiration to all. Her energy, laughter and love to organize and host parties was her way of sharing with all those she loved. Although she succumbed to her illness of Lewey Body Dementia, she fought right until the very end. Everyone that knew Grace would best describe her as Graceful, Gracious and Grateful. For our family, Grace's death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but our love for her leaves a memory no one can steal. There will be a Celebration of Life, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. We wish to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Beaver 2 Unit at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for making her stay full of love and care. Special thanks to Tracey and Helena. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's Canada or Alzheimer's Society. I remember well her last year, sitting on the front porch and waving best she can, as me and Duffy walked by. I am sure that Pat would have liked to have talked to her one more time and given her one more hug. Alas, it was not to be. My sincere condolences to the Sandy Spence family. - Posted by: RR Kuzak (Neighbour) on: Feb 04, 2018

We are truly saddened with the passing of our good friend .. Grace. Grace was a very kind, caring and fun lady...a gentle spirit indeed.. we were truly blessed to have had her friendship since high school. We all have great memories of fun weekend's at Comer's beach.. also enjoying a delicious lunch at her home ..as her Mom made great egg salad and tuna sandwiches. Whenever Sandy and Grace entertained we were always treated to wonderful meal, followed by tons of laughs and a few games. These many happy times spent with our friends will give us comfort in the years to come. Losing a beloved friend is a very sad and difficult time. Our deepest condolences to Sandy, and their wonderful family... May all the great memories of Grace, your Mom and grandmother always keep her close. - Posted by: Jan & Ken Hocken (Good Friends) on: Feb 03, 2018

Wayne and I are so sorry for your loss of your beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, I have such fond memories of Grace over the years. We had so much fun and laughs. Our wonderful dinner group with Lynn, Leo, John and Loreen, our times out at your cottage. I think of our napkin conversation at Sorrentos and looking at condos together, which made us laugh so hard. Grace was a wonderful friend, and I will always cherish our memories together. So sorry we cannot be there for her celebration of life, as we are away but our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love ❤️ Karen & Wayne - Posted by: Karen Whalen (Friend) on: Feb 03, 2018
