TED MALIBORSKI 1935 - 2018 Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Maliborski on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Concordia Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn Pearson; daughter Brenda Bateman; grandchildren Jessica Bateman and Stanley Bateman; stepdaughter Shelly Loeppky; stepgranddaughter Lorissa Loeppky; and sister Marje Sawatzky (George). Ted was a passionate businessman who owned and operated a number of different companies throughout his life. He started in construction, worked his way through realty, and eventually ending with owning/operating Attic Furniture for 40 years. Ted was well known throughout the Sherbrook community once he started Attic Furniture, always lending a hand when he could, supporting local residents over generations, and always trying to care for his community. Many people have fond memories of Ted. When times were tough, Ted would be the one to guide them forward and offer to help in any way he could. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior, at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family would also like to inform that Monday's service will be scent free to respect those with allergies. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ted's name to Calvary Temple. The family would like to pay special thanks to the wonderful nursing staff, aides, and doctors of Concordia Hospital for the care and help they gave Ted. I am sad to say I did not get in a last visit or Christmas card to him as I had planned. So very sorry to hear of Ted’s passing I can imagine what a great loss this must be to his family; as this is a great loss to our whole city. Ted was one of my favourite Winnipeggers. He got me through some lean years, always encouraging and forthright in his way of speaking and giving advice. He’d ask about My family every time I’d visit, and me his. He was so proud of his family. He got to meet my fiancé, now husband. He had sage advice for us, and we enjoyed the stories he would tell us about his old Real Estate office, and his Violin collection. He was an authentic, kind, intelligent man and he was a gem in the community. I witnessed him help, counsel, and guide many of us over the years. It was an honour to know have known him. My condolences to the family. I was fortunate to meet Ted via our association with C21 Real Estate. I always remember Ted with his pipe. He was a very nice man and a good friend. Although we had not connected in recent years, I will always have fond memories of Ted. - Posted by: Gerry Mastaler (Friend) on: Feb 11, 2018
